We Parents Got To Get It Together!

My 9th (15u) and 8th (14u) graders play on very talented tier-1 AAU basketball teams in Texas. The 15u team is fully sponsored with potential D-1 prospects on the team. The 15u have fewer parents attending their games, but the team doesn't always seem to get along as well the 14u team. The 14u team for this year ranked #8 in the nation at the AAU Nationals as 13u (7th graders). The 8th graders have a good family support system, whereas most of the parents are active at the games. But the funny thing is the competitiveness among the parents for our kids to be the "man" or more playing time. The 14u team is very talented and it's gotten to be hard for new players to make the team. Weird, the team without parent support bicker more on the court than the team with parents. The parents seem to have more drama among themselves. The younger team with parents get along great.
